I'm Award-Winning!

I recently received the Superior Scribbler Award from The New York Renovator! Thanks Mrs. Mecomber! :) This is my first award ever, so it is a special one!

The rules that come with the Superior Scribbler Award are:

1. Each Superior Scribbler (S.S.) must pass the Award onto 5 most deserving blogger friends.
2. Each S.S. must link the author and name of the blog from whom he/she received the award.
3. Each S.S. must display the award on his/her blog and link to
this post, which explains the award.
4. Each S.S. who wins is asked to visit
this post and add his/her name to the Mr. Linky List so they can keep up-to-date on everyone who receives The Prestigious Honor. (Mr. Linky is full!) 5. Each S.S. must post these rules on his/her blog.

I read such a variety of blogs, it is hard to narrow down the award to only five people (I chose seven)... which is why I haven't posted this award sooner!

I present the Superior Scribbler Award to the following blogs:

(The Superior Scribbler Award is the award I have to give. This in no way means that your blogs are scribbles... I think they are Superior!)

Balancing Beauty and Bedlam is a fabulous blog! Jen's posts are so bright, cheery and creative. My favorite part of her website is her "Frugal Fashionista" series, where this amazing lady creates gorgeous outfits that cost her a few dollars at thrift stores. I could go on and on about how much I love her blog. So I decided to award her the Superior Scribbler Award! :)

Another favorite blog of mine is MoneySavingMom. Through her blog (which I have been following for years) I learned to save money and get so many products free, almost free, or deeply discounted. I learned so much useful information that will last a lifetime. I am so grateful that she shares her wealth of knowledge so any of us can learn to save lots of money!

Fashionably Modest Patterns is MoneySavingMom's sister's blog. This is such a beautiful blog by a beautiful lady. Her "Page from My Journal: Chronicling A Day in the Life of A Reader " series is so interesting, and I love her perspective as a Christian homeschool graduate. (I am one, too.) This is a blog that I recently found and will definitely be reading often!

The Missus Smarty Pants Blog is another blog I enjoy! I was thrilled when MissusSmartyPants got a blog! I have been reading her newsletters for a long time and have subscribed to her fashion help, too. She teaches her subscribers and readers how to dress for their body type, and gives wonderful advice on how to look fabulous every day! I found MSP through Flylady and have loved reading her newsletters ever since! My favorite part of MSP is her makeover stories where she shows before and after pictures of those whom she has transformed with her wonderful style advice!

I would also like to award LifeAsMom. Fishmama is truly amazing. I have no idea how she gets everything accomplished that she does. She hosts many outstanding memes, including Booking It In 2010, which I joined. She makes beautiful, creative cakes, delicious meals, hosts freezer cooking day, frugal fridays, the ultimate recipe swap and so much more... and still has time to blog! I could only hope to be this productive when I have children!

I would also like to award A Thousand Words, another blog I recently came across. Melisa's street photography is professionally done and shows a life very different from the one I am used to in rural Central New York. Her creative photography gives her readers a unique glimpse into life in the Phillipines. I love the name of her blog, too!

RawFoodToday is an interesting blog I just discovered. I am sure this is going to become a blog I read regularly. We have recently been following a (mostly) raw diet at my house because we have learned the astounding health benefits. RawFoodToday has some delicious-looking recipes that I plan to try and some great information. This blog has a wealth of information on raw food!

Congratulations to the blogs I awarded... I hope you enjoy your award! :)

  1. Nice choices! I will go check them out. I took a quick peek at the Raw Food website and found it interesting indeed. I'm considering shifting into it... but I sure do like my broiled salmon... hmmmm. I love fresh foods for the most part, and eating them is all new to me (I grew up on heavy Italian foods and I think the only vegetables I ever ate as a kid were iceberg lettuce, corn, fried potatoes, fried onions, fried peppers, and tomatoes! YUK!)

I'm glad you liked the award.

  2. Hi Rebecca! I am eating quite a bit of raw food, but also a few other healthy cooked foods, too... You don't necessarily have to go all the way at once; you can always gradually add more raw food into your diet and start trying raw recipes. (Personally I like the 80-20 rule... mostly raw and some other healthy cooked foods occasionally...) We just started about a week ago and one family member lost 5 pounds and another's skin is clearning up. The health benefits are amazing... almost like free healthcare! LOL

  3. My dear Renee,

My Thank You note is stretching up to the skies and I think I'm running out of parchment! Today my smile reached the heavens; it's still there dancing like a cheerful kite.

This is my first award, and I can't wait to display it on my blog. However, I want to write something valuable and lasting about it and I want to give it a special page of its own in my street photography blog. It will take time, though, but I know it's going to be worth it.

Truly, it is a great honor and recognition, and to know that there is someone who appreciates my blog this much is simply gratifying. God bless your heart!

    Love,
    Melisa

PS. I checked out the originator of the award and was delighted to discover we share the same name--only with a tiny bit of difference in spelling. What a lovely coincidence!
